"Lam-pray for a better movie"

Films: Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys (2014)

Alias: None

Type: Unknow, possibly Natural

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average lamprays

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: So far, the only real case of cinematic invasive fish has come in the form of either piranha or snakeheads. Well, the folks at Asylum are about to set the record straight with a totally new lakeside menace! And...well, it's The Asylum, what exactly do you expect? An Oscar nominee?

History: For some reason, Lake Charlevoix, Michigan is in peril from a swarm of horrific man-eaters. Tons of lampreys have poured into the place, and are making meals out of everyone. Soon, only a few people might be able to figure out a way to turn the tide of these beasts before the body count rises and they get into other waters.

Notable Kills: Only the Asylum would get Christopher Lloyd just so they could have a lamprey kill him on the can.

Final Fate: After all the lampreys are led into a trap, they are all electrocuted to death. However, it is later shown that at least one of the lampreys is still alive...

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional, but they are also hopelessly addicted to the scent of any of their dead.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-A swarm of suction-mouthed toothy creatures coming after you even outside the water should be scarier than this. It comes close, but the horrible, and we mean HORRIBLE, effects work makes it all look like amateur-hour. A shame, really. Perhaps a more competent filmmaker will see potential in this premise.

Trivia: -Actual lamprey fish are indeed invasive little jawless fish, and look quite unnerving with just how many of those teeth they have, as well as how they are basically designed to never let go of a meal. But they are more inclined to attack other larger fish, even if they have been recorded to bite humans occasionally. Just the mere thought of it is unpleasant.

-This film was rather intensely billed as the first ever horror film to air on Animal Planet. You know your channel is in the middle of decay when you're giving The Asylum the right to put their guff on the air when Syfy isn't around. Also, isn't Animal Planet supposed to be educational, you twats?!
